I adore children, and I have a passion for seeing every child thrive into the best possible version of whom they were created to be, and I believe this starts in high-quality Early Childhood Education. I started in this career as a nanny, classroom teacher, and in-home childcare provider. Later in my career, I was promoted to Education Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Director in Training, Center Director, and Director of Operations. I currently have my associate in early childhood education from Northern Virginia Community College and I have my BA in Organizational Leadership at Liberty University. I am Director Qualified in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. I'm also a mom to three teenage boys and married to the love of my life.

Company Overview

TRS provides passionate and qualified teachers, assistant teachers, and site directors to childcare centers, preschools, and before & after school programs. TRS teachers are available on-demand, even on the same day, for short-term assignments, long-term assignments or permanent placements.

Operational structure: TRS is open Monday through Friday from 6:30AM-6:30PM to meet all your childcare needs. We are available through your TRS portal which provides direct contact and immediate communication. We are also available via email and telephone during normal business hours and for urgent and emergent childcare staffing requests.

Partner with TRS

Be provided with passionate and qualified staff concerning licensing regulations for DC, Virginia, Maryland, The Carolinas, and Florida.

  • On-call Temporary Staff with at least two days’ notice.

  • Direct communication with the owner/director and our candidates to ensure a precise match that will benefit both for short-term, longterm and permeant placement.

At TRS, we understand the necessary steps it takes to ensure quality staff. TRS has a detailed screening process:

  • Telephone screening and in-depth in-person (virtual) interview with TRS and with the potential center, head start program, school, and/or non-profit organization.

  • A comprehensive background check (TRS requirement)

  • Extensive national and state criminal background check (state mandates shall be ordered by your childcare organization

  • Child abuse, sex offender, and social security clearance (State Central Registry per licensing) • Field Print Fingerprints completed by your childcare center, school, etc.

  • DMV check (if requested)

  • Education verification

  • Teacher Certification & Special Education Certification

  • Employment verification

  • Reference checks (at least three childcare references related with at least three years of childcare experience)

  • Basic Skills Assessment

  • Childcare Prescreen

  • Employee File completed by staffing agency as per licensing requirements

Pricing Structure

Permeant Placement Fee: TRS charges a one-time placement fee in the amount of 7% of each teacher of administrative fulltime annual salary.

  • Summer Permeant Placement Fee

    TRS charges a one-time placement fee of $500.00 per employee. This fee includes recruitment, vetting, and placement services. Individual childcare centers will be responsible for implementation of background checks on each candidate centers desire to hire.

  • *Temporary Fee

    TRS substitute teachers are W-2 employees of The Right Start Staffing Agency. TRS pays all employees an hourly wage rate plus necessary payroll taxes. TRS charges $33.00 per hour for every temp employee requested in the DC, MD, &VA. TRS charges $27.00 per hour in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.

For churches, we charge $31.00, and for childcare centers, it’s $33 per hour but this is for DC, MD, VA, and NY only. The other locations (not just Florida) are $26 per hour for churches and $28 per hour for all other childcare programs.
